Sessions & funding
We run 4 sessions a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.15am until 1.00pm. A session fee is currently £16.00; this charge is reviewed annually by the Preschool Committee. At present free Universal Funding for 15 hours is available from the Local Authority, usually from the term after the child’s third birthday. If places are available we are able to accept funded 2-year-old children – please discuss this further with a member of staff.
Applicants should be aware that some working parents are eligible for an Extended Entitlement of an additional 15 hours of free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds. As our Preschool is part of Woodley Baptist Church and therefore based in a multi-purpose building, we are unable to offer more than the Universal 15 hours at present. More information can be found about the Extended Entitlement at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk and www.wokingham.gov.uk/children-and-families.
Some children may be entitled to a small amount of additional government funding called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP). In order to be eligible for EYPP, your child must be receiving free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds and you must meet one of a number of criteria such as be in receipt of some benefits – for example, Universal Credit - or your child has been looked after by the Local Authority or been adopted from care. More information is available from Wokingham Borough Council. If you think you may be entitled this will be discussed in detail at the time of your application.
