About us

Woodley Baptist Preschool began in 1987 in the Church premises and has use of the main hall, Church worship area and adjoining rooms plus an enclosed garden for outdoor play. It is situated in a small piazza with a doctors’ surgery, gym and a few local shops nearby surrounded by local housing on land which was formerly the Woodley Airfield. It was founded by two members of the Church who opened for two mornings a week for children in the locality. The opening hours have increased over the years and we now operate on four mornings each week alongside and around many other activities in a thriving Church community.

The Preschool encourages each child to develop and flourish in a happy, supportive and secure environment enabling them to be confident and challenged and to build self esteem with their achievements. We aim to meet the needs of the children in our care in accordance with their particular stages of development and all are treated as individuals. Our policy is to give equal opportunities to all regardless of race, gender, disability or ethnic origin.

We work in partnership with parents and local advisers to understand and provide the highest quality childcare for each child. We are a member of the Early Years Alliance and inspected by OFSTED; registered to offer up to 24 places.
